Mark Laff from Generation X was the drummer from the band. I think Theyre a London Band and were around during the late 80's.
Did a search on the net and found that they maybe a few recordings out there.
They went on to form a band called Speedtwinn which I found some MP3z for. Yet to listen to em.

Hello there. I was a big fan of TFR during their short-lived heyday - 1985 through 1987. I have lots of pictures and tapes of the band's show for whomever is interested. Mark Laff, ex-Gen X, was the drummer. Gary Twinn was the singer, Ian McKean was the guitarist and went on to play with Balaam and the Angel. Jeff D. Vine was the bassist. TFR were big in England and never toured America.
Great band. Miss them. Would love a reunion!!
We played with them a few times in '85, they were kind of cool. Mark Laff was an honorary member of the Rock 'n' Roll table in Holborn, and was one of only a few drummers in history to share his fags. I think they were kind of eclipsed by the Sputnik media machine that was just starting up at the same time. We billed them as "20 Fat Dockers" at Buttz 'n' Spikes, and the manager didn't like it. Mark was there when "the Major" set himself on fire in the lift in his doss house opposite the Oporto, and his ashes were raining down into our beer,.. but that's another story...
Wow. I remember going to the Oporto when I interned at Melody Maker (RIP), many years ago. Len was the barman, right? I remember a picture of Razzle from Hanoi Rocks was on the wall above our table.

Hey!! They supported us!! (Buttz gets own trumpet out and starts blowing)...We also did a few "all dayers" around the country. Oh yes,.. Len the barman. He was an Arsenal supporting ex-taxi-driving villain. I went to the Oporto last year just for old time sake, and a tear came to the old Red-eyes. Carol still has the Razzle portrait, and actually bought the Rock'n'roll table, she has it in her bedroom. Next time I'm up in the smoke, I'll light a candle for the Oporto,.. and "Gossips"....
THE T.F.R. WERE ONE OF THE BEST BANDS OF THE 80'S.I SEE THEM MANY TIMES, THE BEST WAS AT THE OLD MARQUEE IN WARDOR ST. THE SINGLES I HAVE ARE TOWER BLOCK ROCK & JOHNY SEVEN. I THINK THE LP WAS CALLED 9 MILES OF DEAD COW AFTER A REVIEWER WROTE THERE WAS MORE LEATHER JACKETS IN THE CROWD THAN 9 MILES OF DEAD COW.THE SECOND LP MAY HAVE BEEN CALLED SOMTHING LIKE "GUNS FOR SALE" IT WAS AFTER THEY WENT TO THE STATES AND WAS A BIT BILLY IDOL'ISH BUT WORTH A LISTEN. IF ANYONE AS ANY INFO ON WERE I COULD GET THE FIRST LP ,THAT WOULD BE GREAT
